In consideration of its qualities as a work in which the arts of calligraphy and adornment are conjoined to such brilliant effect, Franco Cosimo Panini Editore decided to publish a facsimile edition of the Lezionario Farnese – the ninth in our Biblioteca Impossibile series. The Biblioteca Impossibile is an ‘impossible’ library of facsimiles which we consider the ‘flagship’ project of our publishing house.
The facsimile is entirely faithful to the original in all its parts. It reproduces for the first time, and with the greatest precision, this exceedingly refined codex. It has been published as a single (unrepeatable) limited edition of 550 copies for world distribution.
The work is accompanied by a treatise publication providing comments, critical notes and analysis (edited by Jonathan J. G. Alexander).
